FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What is the origin of the ingredients used in Natura Bissé products?
Our professional team at Natura Bissé strictly abides by the stipulated guidelines when formulating our products in order to ensure their safety as well as the quality and efficacy of our line. Our customers are our utmost priority and our brand name guarantees excellence.
Natura Bissé does not use any ingredient from human origin, all the ingredients that Natura Bissé uses are from controlled animals, vegetal or synthetic origin. Quality and security are the main concerns for us.
Are there preservatives in Natura Bissé products?
Our top priority is the quality and safety of our products and we strictly adhere to the stringent guidelines stipulated by the Cosmetics Industry; that’s why, to meet our rigorous excellence standards, we use some necessary preservatives. There are several misconceptions regarding certain ingredients commonly used in the industry which we would like to take the opportunity to clarify:
Paraben is the most widely used stabilizer in the cosmetics, pharmaceutical and food industries. The use of paraben as a cosmetic stabilizer has been approved by expert panels and by legislation in the United States and Europe as well as by the more rigid Japanese legislation; it is essential to ensure the microbiological safety of the product. The Cosmetic Industry’s main priority is to be able to guarantee the safety of its products and would not hesitate to immediately eliminate any suspicious ingredient from its formulas.
Sodium EDTA is a chelating agent that prevents the presence of metals in the medium.
Stearic Acid is not a preservative, but an acid that may be emulsified when neutralized. It is one of the first emulsifiers ever used in cosmetics.
Are Natura Bissé products gluten-free?
Natura Bissé has actively pursued a response regarding the existence of gluten in any of the active ingredients used in our products. In order to provide an accurate response, Natura Bissé has had to reach out to all of the ingredient distributors. It is very important to understand that companies dealing in the cosmetic industry are not obligated by law to disclose information regarding ingredients; therefore, even though Natura Bissé has requested this information, they are not obligated to provide it or assume this request as a high priority. Without official certification from the distributors, we cannot confirm our products do not contain gluten, particularly since we have no particular certainty regarding the environment where these ingredients are treated.
Does Natura Bissé test on animals?
NATURA BISSÉ International, S.A. hereby certifies that the company does not carry out any kind of animal testing to develop, analyze or produce their products.
Can Natura Bissé products be used during pregnancy?
In accordance with current cosmetic regulations, there is no specific restriction that limits the use of ingredients in cosmetic products for pregnant women.
However, as we are not aware of any specific studies conducted with pregnant women for topical application of most cosmetic ingredients, Natura Bissé recommends that both pregnant women and women who are breastfeeding consult a professional healthcare provider before using any cosmetic product. For example, some OBGYN’s do not recommend using anti-cellulite or slimming products during pregnancy.
For any further questions about prescription drugs, maternal disease or environmental exposure, health professionals have a telephone information service on teratogens.
During pregnancy, Natura Bissé advises a normal skincare routine for both face and body including cleansing, hydration (facial, body and delicate areas like eyes and lips), sun protection and the use of anti-stretch mark products.
Do not forget that, during pregnancy, the mother’s skin may become more sensitive due to hormonal changes. For this reason, before starting any treatment with glycolic acid, we recommend carrying out a sensitivity test by first applying a small amount of product on a limited area (i.e.: neck area).
