In the West, we tend to live too fast, to perform different tasks at the same time, to work with our eyes shut, while our mind is scattered, regretting what went wrong yesterday or worrying about what could happen tomorrow... Mindfulness is basically the opposite of that: it helps you focus on the present moment, on what is happening now and on what we are feeling now, rather than letting our thoughts go to the past or the future.

If your mind is distracted, just turn your attention back to the present moment.

If at any moment we perceive certain emotions or sensations, we must accept them, instead of judging them as positive or negative and trying to change them.
